Opportunities await in McCordsville, Indiana!

McCordsville Indiana - Establisthed 1988 - Vision & Promise

At-a-Glance

Welcome to the town of McCordsville. Here on the northwest side of Hancock County is a community with much to offer visitors, as well as families who have lived in the area for generations. In the past year, we have celebrated new developments and eagerly await the completion of projects that are underway. Our local branch of the Hancock Wellness Center, a state-of-the-art fitness and rehabilitation facility continues to grow it's membership.  Meijer has been a welcome addition to the Town and provides the Town with a variety of shopping opportunities without going far. Traditions at Brookside opened a few years ago and continues to provide the region with first class senior living care. A new senior living apartment complex and strip center are set to open in late 2020 or early 2021. McCordsville is currently one of the fastest-growing communites in Hancock County – no surprise to those of us who call McCordsville home.

Our Town Hall, located at 6280 W. 800 North is home to the Police, Utility, Planning, Building and Engineering and Public Works Departments, as well as Administration and Fiscal offices.  We have recently constructed a small community park next to Town Hall which features a park shelter and tables, WiFi in the shelter, a new grill, as well as a perimeter walking path.  At the Town Hall Community Park you can participate in such events as an Easter Egg Hunt, movie nights, concerts, Christmas Tree Lighting and soccer leagues.  We also host an annual 5K to help support the Town Hall Park.  Our trails connection leads from north of the railroad track to 1000 North/96th Street so you can easily walk or bike to our neighboring communities or to Geist Reservoir.  We have also recently completed a section of our trails system that ties into other sections around Geist.

Over the years, McCordsville has maintained its hometown feel while remaining conveniently located to city life. McCordsville is located less than 15 minutes from Interstates 70, 69, 465 and State Road 234, in the northwest corner of Hancock County and includes a portion of Geist Reservoir within our borders.

Though not incorporated as a town until 1988, McCordsville has a long history. The original plat for the town was laid out by James Nagley in 1865 and was named for the McCord family who lived in the area and who also platted a portion of the town in 1873. There are many exciting things happening in McCordsville, and we look forward to sharing our future with you. We truly believe in our slogan “Next Stop McCordsville.”
